Katy Perry pleased with progress of "mature" new album

Katy Perry has revealed that she is happy with the quality of her new album.

The singer has been working on the follow-up to 2010's 'Teenage Dream' and it appears Perry will release new record 'Prism' in October.

Speaking to ABC, the 'Part of Me' star suggested that fans should expect something a little more grown up than her previous material. She revealed:

"I am plenty pleased with everything I'm writing. And it's, you know, I think it's going to be a little bit more of a mature version of 'Teenage Dream'. I call it adult reality show."

Perry added: "I'm like the director in where I'm at in music right now. I get the final cut."

The singer has been teasing the release of her new album by having a golden truck emblazoned with her record information drive around the US.

Perry has been retweeting fans who tweet her photos of the truck, which has been spotted in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
