A truck decorated by a promotional message for Katy Perry’s new album has been in a road accident.

The pop star has been promoting the release of her forthcoming album ‘Prism’ with a gold truck emblazoned with the album’s title and its release date.

However the vehicle, which has been driving around America, was involved in a collision in Pennsylvania after an intoxicated driver hit the front of Perry’s metallic truck in a car park. The damage done to the truck can be seen in the image below. 

The driver of the ‘Prism’ vehicle suffered minor injuries in the accident whilst the traffic offender is in police custody and will be charged with a DUI.

Katy Perry took to Twitter to reassure fans that the truck will be back on the road again soon.

Perry stated: “THE #PRISM SEMI IS BUMPED & BRUISED BUT SHE IS A CHAMPION! SHE WILL RETURN…”

Katy Perry’s third album will be released on October 22 and her new single ‘Roar’ will be unveiled tomorrow (August 12).
