Katy Perry plans to auction off old costumes and dresses

Katy Perry has revealed that she might put up some of her old costumes for auction.

The US star is well known for wearing some extravagant dresses whilst on stage but it seems the singer is attempting to shed her past ahead of upcoming new album 'Prism'.

Teasers for new single 'Roar' have seen Perry mourn the 'death' of her 'Teenage Dream' era, which was punctuated by bright colours and happy-go-lucky themes.

However, she told BBC Radio 1 that she might hold an auction to get rid of all her old outfits as she matures. Perry said:

"I have a warehouse here in LA [for my dresses] and I’ll probably do an Elton John type auction at some point. But I am still going to be bringing the bling and the costumes. I just think you’ll see a little bit more grown up version of me, which does not equal boring, it means the 28-year-old version of me."
