'Roar' sensation Katy Perry has revealed that she has signed up to be the new face of CoverGirl cosmetics. 

She announced the exciting beauty partnership via her official Twitter page and also shared a snapshot of her campaign for the brand. 

The superstar then issued a statement about representing the company and expained that she is "honoured" to be the face of such a well-loved cosmetics line:

"In addition to music, I've always considered makeup to be a powerful creative avenue of self-expression. I'm honored to partner with CoverGirl and share more colors and textures of my approach to beauty to inspire my audience."

On October 16, Perry tweeted: "BEAUTIFUL news to share w/you all. Today is my 1st day as a @COVERGIRL! See what happens when you let the light in? #COVERGIRLKATY."

Her new album, 'Prism', is due to be released on October 22 and she recently unveiled another track from the offering, entitled 'Unconditionally'.
