Lady Gaga and Katy Perry dismiss chart battle reports: 'It's unhealthy'

'Roar' beauty Katy Perry has denied that she's about to be caught up in a chart battle with Lady Gaga and insisted that it's 'unhealthy' to look at her career in that way.

During an interview with EntertainmentWise, the superstar explained that 'Prism' and Lady Gaga's upcoming new offering, 'ARTPOP', might enter the charts at the same time but they don't see it as rivalry:

"Gaga and I like to publicly dismiss it because it's not healthy. You want to feel music. You want it to resonate and relate to you. You can't look at it like a competition because you ruin the reason why you love music. But I think that sometimes our fan groups are so big and strong, they use it as ammunition."

During the midweek chart update on Wednesday, October 30, her album 'Prism' had dipped a place to No.2 although the final position won't be confirmed until the weekend (November 3). 'ARTPOP', meanwhile, is due to be released on November 11.
