Katy Perry: 'The music industry humiliated me, but it was a test of strength'

'Roar' superstar Katy Perry has opened up about the darker side of her career and confessed that she has been 'humiliated' during her time in the spotlight, but was able to be strong and get through the hard times.

During a new interview with German magazine, Joy, the pop beauty explained that it's not easy to put yourself out there as an artist in the music industry because you'll always be made to do things you're not completely on board with.

Referring to her own experience as a pop star, she admitted: "You have to eat dust in the music industry. You'll get humiliated, often in very uncomfortable ways. That period of my life was like a test of my strength."

Earlier this afternoon (November 7), Perry confirmed that she will be returning to London on December 7 to perform at Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball. Tickets for the two-day extravaganza are set to go on sale tomorrow morning (November 8) at 9am GMT.
