Katy Perry: 'My song 'Unconditionally' gives me goose bumps'

'Teenage Dream' beauty Katy Perry has confessed that her new single passed her 'goose bumps' test because everytime she hears it she gets chills.

Speaking to MTV News about the song, entitled 'Unconditionally', Perry explained that she recorded the vocals and then went away to give it enough time to sink in so that when she came back to listen to it she could really tell if it was good enough to make the tracklisting on her new album, 'Prism':

"There's this test that I do in the studio, after a song's complete and you've tracks some vocals. It's kind of like the goose bump test. If, every time you hear it, it gives you goose bumps, it's hitting a chord inside of you that's really important. It's an emotional chord inside of you."

"I love this song because not only can it be a romantic, intimate song, but it can be about the type of love that a mother has when she sees her first child, or best friends or partners."

Tweeting about the concept of unconditional love yesterday (November 20), Perry asked her followers: "Yes, unconditional love sometimes feels like being hit by a car... Or being on fire... How does it feel to you?"
