Katy Perry urges fans to donate to Philippines fund on Thanksgiving

Katy Perry has called on her fans to help out the Philippines relief efforts this Thanksgiving.

Whilst millions of Americans may have been tucking into slap-up turkey on Thursday (November 27), many Philippines residents are still reeling from the devastation caused by the recent Typhoon Haiyan.

It caused over 5,000 deaths and many more people have been left homeless.

Tweeting about a new Philippines charity compilation album she features on, Perry said:

"GUYS! Today is a day to give THANKS & be GIVING. Contribute to #Haiyan relief efforts w/new remix of #Unconditionally."

'Songs for the Philippines' is a 39-track album comprising of tunes from the likes of The Beatles, Lady Gaga and One Direction.

All artists and producers have waived their fees in order to maximise the amount of money that goes to the relief fund.
