'Roar' superstar Katy Perry has revealed that she gave some advice to One Direction heartthrob Niall Horan recently about dating and women, and advised him to stay away from girls who wear control underwear. 

Speaking to BBC Radio 1, the beauty explained that they don't have anything more than a platonic relationship, despite persistent rumours that suggest otherwise, but she has given him a few pearls of wisdom regarding romantic endeavors: "I could babysit him. I keep telling him, 'don’t get interested in girls that wear Spanx. Yet. Later'."

In the same interview, Perry added that he owes her for getting him through on 'The X Factor' a few years ago when he was a contestant on the show: 

"I love Niall. I think people forget that I chose him! He owes me. I was a judge on the X Factor and it was up to my vote to see if he could go through. I was sceptical but then he made this cute little face – that doesn’t look like that cute little face any more. It’s more a grown up face. It’s a bit more like 'I’m at the gym. I like to get buff at 9am'."
