Kelly Clarkson brushes off 'chunky monkey' comments: 'I don't seek acceptance from strangers'

Singer Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she doesn't care that Katie Hopkins slammed her weight on Twitter because she is more concerned with her own self-acceptance and confidence.

Outspoken TV personality Katie Hopkins took to her official Twitter page and revealed her surprise at seeing Clarkson's new figure: "Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen."

After being met with a wave of backlash from people who explained that the songstress only gave birth 8 months ago, Hopkins added: "Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago. That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves."

The 'Heartbeat Song' superstar was asked about Hopkins' rude remarks during an interview with Heat magazine and admitted that she doesn't care because she doesn't seek acceptance from strangers:

"She doesn't know me. I'm awesome! It doesn't bother me. It's a free world. Say what you will. I've just never cared what people think. It's more if I'm happy and I'm confident and feeling good, that's always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family - I don't seek out any other acceptance."
