Fox News host Chris Wallace has apologised to Kelly Clarkson for joking about her weight.

The TV man appeared on radio's The Mike Gallagher Show on Friday (April 3), but a quip he made about Clarkson was criticised.

He said: "She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while."

However, Wallace has now issued a statement of apology for the remark.

The TV host said: "I sincerely apologise to Kelly Clarkson for my offensive comment.

"I admire her remarkable talent and that should have been the focus of any discussion about her."
