Kelly Clarkson axes series of live dates on doctor's orders: 'I'm truly sorry'

Songstress Kelly Clarkson has confirmed that her doctor has told her to cancel a series of live dates because her voice is at risk.

The 'Invincible' sensation cancelled her concert in Virginia last night (September 12) and will not perform again until after September 20. She told her followers on Twitter:

"So bummed that I have to cancel some of my tour dates. This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice! I can't wait to get healthy and see y'all back on the road soon. I hate cancelling and I am truly sorry to my fans that have been excited to see this show."

She then returned to the social networking site and added that she wants her followers to know she would never cancel a concert unless it was vital: "Please know that I never cancel anything unless it's absolutely necessary."
