After slamming some of the performers at this year's MTV VMAs as "pitchy strippers", hitmaker Kelly Clarkson has now praised former Disney starlet Selena Gomez for being "classy".

While the 'Since U Been Gone' sensation didn't clarify who her remark was about, she has revealed her admiration for Gomez, who attended the music awards ceremony over the weekend, and wrote on Twitter:

"Dear Selena Gomez, you are by far one of the most beautiful, sexy, classy things on this planet. #Goddidgood #texasgirls."

Upon seeing the cute message, Gomez replied publicly last night (August 28) and thanked her for the support: "@Kelly_clarkson Thank you :) #thebiggerthehairclosertoGod #lovemesometexans ❤"

Earlier this month, Clarkson cleared up rumours that suggested she had cancelled her wedding and confirmed that she is still getting married, but it will be a far more low-key event than originally planned: "FYI ....Brandon & I are getting married & no I am not pregnant. We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony."
