Kelly Clarkson on songwriting: 'I have to work alone'

Superstar Kelly Clarkson has opened up about the creative process she goes through while writing music and confessed that she hates to feel vulnerable.

During a question and answer session with The Huffington Post, the 'Catch My Breath' beauty explained that she has to be alone in order to write from the heart and with no distraction:

"Actually, I write alone. I don’t usually write with people in the room. Every song that you see my name on, I’ve written the lyrics and melody on my own. I don’t like to be vulnerable, apparently."

She was also asked what her biggest fear is and admitted that dying alone is right up there with things that unnerve her: "I think everyone’s fear is being alone. I don’t want to die alone. That seems sad."

Clarkson then revealed that she's very fearless, but was incredibly nervous when she performed at Obama's inauguration ceremony (pictured below) earlier this year: "I’m kind of a high-energy person. The most anxious I’ve ever been was singing at the inauguration. And when I feel a lack of control."

Meanwhile, Clarkson is preparing to release her forthcoming Christmas album, 'Wrapped In Red', on October 29 in time for the festive season.
