Kelly Clarkson on 'Wrapped In Red': 'There were no limitations, it was a dream'

Songstress Kelly Clarkson has opened up about her upcoming new Christmas album, 'Wrapped In Red', and confessed that it's been a dream of hers for many years.

"I've been dying to make a Christmas album. I always get asked what genre I'm in: 'Is this country or pop or rock? What are you?' And what's cool about making the Christmas album was, 'Oh, there are no limitations! We can do whatever we want!'"

Referring to her rather unusual cover of Imogen Heap's 'Just For Now', Clarkson added that it's the embodiment of her family's festive efforts as they love to bring in songs that aren't typically traditional: "I just love that song. That was my family Christmas-highly dysfunctional, like, 'Can we just stop for like five minutes and have like a normal Christmas setting?'"

Clarkson then addressed the record's title and admitted that the colour red is symbolic of so many important things and doesn't just represent Christmas: "There's just something about it that represents so many deep emotions, whether it's love or lust or envy or pain or beauty."

'Wrapped In Red' is due to be released on October 28 in the UK and a day later in her native America.
