Kelly Osbourne: "Weight loss is just a perk"

Kelly Osbourne says her weight loss was an "amazing perk" of finally being happy.

The reality TV star famously dropped five dress sizes after taking part in popular US TV series Dancing with the Stars in 2009.

Osbourne insists her new figure hasn't made her happy though - as she needed to feel comfortable in her own skin before losing the pounds.

She told In Touch magazine: "People think I lost weight and then got happy, but that's not how it works. You have to get happy first. I made a life change, and the weight loss was an amazing perk."

The star overcame her prescription drug addictions before fully applying herself to her new healthy lifestyle. Osbourne now does her best to maintain her strict diet and exercise regime, revealing she tries to hit the gym five times a week although admits "that doesn't always happen".

She added: "I do up to half an hour of cardio, and I also do circuit training, yoga or Pilates – I mix it up. I do cheat. I have one cheat day a week where I eat whatever the f**k I want.

"Never deprive yourself of anything, because then you get angry about it. People who are hungry are miserable."
