Kelly Rowland rescued by coast guard after being lost at sea for 12 hours

Destiny's Child beauty Kelly Rowland ran into some trouble just before the weekend after a private boat, which she was on with friends, got lost at sea.

The 'Kisses Down Low' hitmaker was whale watching with a group of pals when the vessel became "disoriented in the five-to-six-foot waves and fog that had rolled in" off the coast of Provincetown in Massachusetts.

An employee from TowboatUS Provincetown explained to E! News that the passengers needed help, but luckily the coastguard was "able to triangulate their position" and got them back to shore safely. Despite making it back in one piece, Rowland's boat broke down as it was making its way back to the shore and they had to be towed the rest of the way after 12 hours at sea.

The employee confirmed that the songstress was "tired and thankful" following the rescue, but understandably "wanted to get off the boat".

She continued to enjoy her weekend at the popular vacation hotspot and shared a photograph of herself with the chef from a restaurant she ate at (shown below), which she accompanied with the caption: "Me and the my girl Christina Spencer, the Chef at Victor's in P-Town!!! This food is absolutely amazing! #passionforfood"
