Ke$ha: "I intimidate men"

Ke$ha says she can't blame men for being "intimidated" by her as she did write a whole album called 'Cannibal'.

The 26-year-old songstress says the opposite sex are often put off by her gutsy nature and confident presence.

Speaking in an interview with British magazine Now, she admitted: "In my dating life, absolutely! Ever since I wrote a song about dismembering men and eating them, I've felt an intimidation factor. I did write a whole damn album called 'Cannibal', after all."

Ke$ha is proud of the fact that she is part of a generation of music where you don't need to fit into any particular box to become successful.

The 'Tik Tok' hitmaker loves that female artists are paving a new way in the industry.

She explained: "Absolutely. We're in a new era where women are running sh*t. I love that! Women are strong, sexy and really powerful. I love being a part of this female movement that's taking over the world, I want women to feel inspired, fearless, confident and ready to seriously kick ass."

The 26-year-old singer has been likened to the eccentric songstress in the past, but admits she doesn't know where the comparisons stem from.

Speaking to British magazine Now, Ke$ha revealed: "It was never fully explained to me. Obviously we're both strong females and I respect her immensely but I don't really think we're that similar.

The songstress added: "I take my notes from the bands I love and the people I listen to, like the Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper and David Bowie. I love that combination of glitter and balls."

Ke$ha also revealed what career path she would have pursued if she wasn't a pop star.

The singer said: "I was studying religion because I'm fascinated by it. I'm also fascinated by cults too. My latest video was a homage to meeting a cult leader.

She added: "I've researched [Scientology] out of curiosity because it's so weird. But I've never considered joining it."

Ke$ha admits she made the conscious decision not to be "PG-rated".

The 'C'Mon' singer's music famously revolves around the themes of partying, drinking and sex, and Ke$ha has previously been accused of objectifying men.

The 26-year-old singer makes no apologies for the way she is.

In an interview with British magazine Now she explained: "That's definitely something I've done. If men in music talk about sex, girls, strippers and partying, then why can't I? Just because I'm a woman, it doesn't make me a drunk or a sl*t. It can be equally badass if a woman talks about those things. I'm here to make sure that's the case.

She added: "I decided two years ago not to be PG-rated. If I'd tried, it would be bulls**t - my fans like me because I'm honest."

Meanwhile, Ke$ha revealed her celebrity crushes and says One Direction singer Harry Styles is worthy of his heartthrob status.

She teased: "Harry Styles is pretty cute - he looks like a young Mick Jagger.

The singer added: "Me and Johnny Depp had eyeball sex at the benefit concert for Superstorm Sandy in LA. We never really talked - we just had eyeball sex!"

'Die Young' songstress Ke$ha has opened up about her passion to help animals and revealed that she once contracted scabies from trying to separate two stray dogs that had been glued together.

She told Billboard that she tried to rescue the abused street dogs in the middle of the night with the help of The Humane Society: "I was calling the Humane Society in the middle of the night and nobody was answering. I bitched about it to enough people that they ended up sending a whole help team of volunteers."

The hitmaker has since been named The Humane Society's ambassador and she explained that she takes her duties very seriously: "If you follow my music, you know I'm a bit of a jackass. But this is one part of my life I take really seriously. Helping animals has always been my goal."

Ke$ha will be given the Wyler Award at the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) Genesis Awards benefit on March 23 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, and Beverly Kaskey (senior director of the HSUS' Hollywood outreach program) added:

"She's always willing to speak out and lend her name and voice for issues we're addressing at the time. She has such a wide international reach."

Ke$ha never writes a song for the "heck if it".

The 'Tik Tok' songstress discussed the process of coming up with a hit track, and says she doesn't have a particular way of producing an album.

Ke$ha told indiatimes.com: "It just happens to me. I just go with the flow. I write when I know I have something to express. I just write for the heck of it. Unlike others, I have nothing to fake about with my songs. I write and then sing what I feel is correct.

She added: "A lot of artistes would not incorporate the same wordings as I do but I don't cheat with my music. In fact, I work very hard to get the job completed."

Ke$ha's music famously revolves around the themes of partying and drinking, and the star has revealed the inspiration behind her albums.

She said: "My recent album is about the music I love. It is inspired by my memories, experiences, the moments I witnessed while I was on tour. I've tried to revive the old rock-n-roll genre with it. It is also influenced by electro pop and dance pop. It is like an evolution to me. It expresses some parts of my life right from parties, love, sex and not to forget my erotic encounter with a male supernatural spirit."

The 26-year-old singer's music famously revolves around the themes of partying and drinking, and she is well known for her outlandish behaviour and eccentric fashion sense.

Ke$ha has been criticised for how she portrays herself at times, but the star admits she doesn't care, explaining she'd rather treat fans to memorable performances.

She revealed: "Do you think I care for what the f****ing world says? I don’t need to be somebody else. I am an animal for my animals [fans]. I wear my own self. I believe in living my way to the fullest and performing for my animals. I know they love me. I don’t need anybody else’s love.

Ke$ha added: "Before hitting the stage, I give it a second to think where I am, what language do they [the audience] speak. I always want to make people feel good as hell. I remember one moment where for ‘Tik Tok’, we spent a lot of dollars on stage glitter ‘ejaculating’ on my fans. So I am ready to do anything for my fans."

The songstress stars in new reality series, 'Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life' and is keen for people to see another side to her.

She told hindustantimes.com: "People have heard me on radio, seen me performing on stage or have seen my belly move in music videos, but that’s not all. I’m going to show a lot of other shocking parts of my life with this documentary. It is not at all glamorous."

The 26-year-old singer's music famously revolves around the themes of partying and drinking, and she is well known for her outlandish behaviour and eccentric fashion sense.

Ke$ha has a loyal fan base in Japan, and thinks people should take a leaf out of her book when it comes to letting go and having fun.

In an interview with Q magazine, the star said: "Don't think, don't analyse. That's the problem with so much culture out there. People are so trapped into trying to do the right thing. As long as you are not hurting anyone I think you should feel free to indulge your fantasies.

She added: "I have had girls crying when they come up to me in Japan because they just didn't know how to have fun."

Songstress Ke$ha also revealed why she thinks her music appeals to fans who don't speak English.

She explained: "I am incredibly liberated, and I think that's why the Japanese fans love it. Push it out. Break the rules. People understand that in any language."

Pop sensation Ke$ha has revealed that her song 'Gold Trans Am' was originally meant to be about her car, but turned into a track about her lady parts, which she co-wrote with her mother.

Speaking to Q magazine about the song, which features on the deluxe version of her album 'Warrior', she explained that it started out as an innocent hit, but soon turned into a metaphor about her vagina: "It began as a song about my car, which is a gold Trans Am, and it works about 40 per cent of the time."

"I don't have another car because I love that one so much. But then like all great pop it became a metaphor for something else - my p***y." Ke$ha added: "My vagina is in tip top working order. Valeted and souped-up and working 100 per cent of the time."

Referring to the fact that she penned it with her mother, she quipped: "That may not be normal to the average psychiatrist out there but I think it's pretty cool…don't analyse.
Ke$ha insists she is always up for having fun, revealing: "I was born in a party, so yeah it runs in my blood. House parties are my favourite. I have house parties in my house at Nashville, it’s the best. You can do whatever you want, go crazy go ballistic and have a crazy time.

She added: "That’s me. I am fearless and careless. I don’t pretend. I do what I like doing. I don’t like to worry about my future. I live in the present. To me worrying about future is like wasting your life, it’s all now. one needs to live now to the fullest. I believe that how we live today, defines tomorrow."

Ke$ha insists that although she has a party-hard attitude, she always works around the clock to make sure her music and videos are the best they can be.

She continued in an interview with dnaindia.com: "When it comes to work I am into it. I don’t cheat with my music and with my fans. I work my butt off. Everything goes into everything, there is no time sense, you just got to do when you got to do it."

Pop songstress Ke$ha is set to be honoured for her animal advocacy work next month by the Humane Society of the United States.

The 'Die Young' hitmaker was named the organisation's first Global Ambassador in 2011 and has continued to stand up for and promote the rights of animals, which has earned her a special prize called the Wyler Award.

She will be given the Wyler Award at the Genesis Awards Benefit Gala in Los Angeles on March 23 and executive Beverly Kaskey of the Humane Society explained that the organisation is "grateful" to Ke$ha for being so vocal about animal issues: "The animals have a bold and passionate ambassador in Ke$ha, who is not known for holding back on what she thinks."

"The Humane Society of the United States is grateful to Ke$ha for informing her millions of fans worldwide about new and ongoing threats to our fellow creatures, while connecting them to resources that enable them to take action."

Speaking about the recognition, Ke$ha added: "It means so much to me to be recognised by The Humane Society of the United States because advocating for animals is second nature to me. My affinity with animals and the natural world inspires me and my music. I don't understand how anyone can justify abusing or exploiting animals, and as long as it continues, I intend to keep talking about it."

Ke$ha: 'I was caught on camera drinking my own pee'

Glitter-loving pop star Ke$ha has admitted that her forthcoming MTV documentary will be access-all-areas and there is even footage of her using her own pee as a refreshing beverage.

Speaking to BBC's Newsbeat about the programme, entitled 'My Crazy Beautiful Life', the 'Die Young' star explained that the camera man was very thorough in obtaining footage:

"He got all the things you would want to see and all the things you wouldn't really want to see - making out with dudes, drinking my own pee, jumping out of a building, jumping out of aeroplanes, swimming with sharks..."

"I was told drinking my own pee was good... Somebody tried to take my pee away from me and I said, 'That is mine!' So I snatched it up and took a chug and it was really gross so I don't do it anymore."
