Ke$ha axes spring tour dates: 'I need to honour my commitment to treatment'

'Timber' hitmaker Ke$ha has axed a couple of scheduled concerts that were due to take place over the next couple of months in order to assure that she makes a full commitment to her recovery.

The star is currently seeking treatment for an eating disorder at the Timberline Knolls facility outside of Chicago and was supposed to be playing at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana on March 15 and then at the Kress Events Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin on April 13, but has now cancelled the shows.

She issued an official statement on her decision to pull out from the live commitments and said: "I was so looking forward to performing at these dates but I need to follow my doctor's advice and get my health back on track."

Ke$ha added: "All of your support during this time has been so amazing. I couldn't have done this without you all. I look forward to coming back stronger than ever on the next tour."

Back in January, she gave her fans an update from rehab in which she explained that it was "necessary" for her to spend time away from the spotlight at the facility: "Hey It's Kesha from treatment. I just wanted to say that this is really hard and necessary work. I'm grateful for all the love and support. I couldnt do this without you."
