Kesha on TV talent show role: 'I don't want to sh*t all over contestants' dreams'

Kesha has opened up on the pressure she feels on new TV talent show Rising Star.

The singer was recently confirmed to appear alongside host Josh Groban, Ludacris and country star Brad Paisley on the program, which started in the US in June.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Kesha admitted that she is a bit of a soft touch on the show because she doesn't want to ruin anyone's dreams.

She said: "It's difficult for me to say 'no' - as you've probably noticed, I say 'yes' a lot, but it's because I see young people with a dream, the same dream that I had six years ago. I don't want to sh*t all over their dreams! I really see that people are really nervous.

"That is an incredibly nerve-racking thing to stand behind a wall with a camera in your face and millions of Americans watching and voting on you - that is a terrifying situation to be in, and it really makes or breaks the performer."

The format of Rising Star sees the public vote on who they want to progress in the competition, with the judges also having a portion of the vote.
