Kesha performs live on stage with musician Ben Folds in Los Angeles

Kesha was invited on stage by Ben Folds at a recent gig in Los Angeles.

The singer joined the musician at the The Orpheum on Wednesday (May 18).

She covered Bob Dylan's 'It Ain't Me Babe', before joining Folds on his tracks 'Still Fighting It' and 'Rock This Bitch'.

They also segued in a section of Kesha's 2010 tune 'Sleazy'.

Writing on Instagram after the show, the singer paid tribute to Folds for supporting her through tough times.

Kesha said: "Dear Mr. ben folds, thank u for tonight. thanks for letting me share your stage, your band, your audience, your humor, your songs.

"thanks for believing in me. thanks for being a positive and encouraging human in my life. thanks for ur records that got me through high school. thanks for being a genius composer. thanks for being nice when we work together.

"thanks for letting me play a Bob Dylan cover with you. thanKs for being a good friend in this scary business. and lastly. thanks for cleaning my wine glass with ur old man panties. ur an A class gentleman. love you f*cker [sic]."

Kesha is due to perform Dylan's 'It Ain't Me Babe' at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards after a u-turn from Dr Luke's Kemosabe label.
