Kings of Leon cancel eight more shows as drummer recovers from broken ribs

Kings of Leon have pulled eight more shows from their upcoming schedule due to injury.

As previously reported, drummer Nathan Followill was left with broken ribs over the weekend after their tour bus stopped sharply.

They cancelled a gig in Saratoga Springs, NY on November 10 and the group have now confirmed that their next eight North America shows will also be cancelled.

Dr. Faiz Bhora, chief of thoracic surgery at Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital, commented: "The process is now to rest in order for healing to take place. To avoid complications and to make a full recovery, a break from performing to Aug. 28 is necessary."

Followill added: "I’m counting down the days until I can get back in the saddle and continue what has been our best American tour so far."

The cancelled shows are as follows:

  • Aug. 10 - Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs, NY
  • Aug. 13 - Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre, Wantagh, NY
  • Aug. 15 - Jiffy Lube Live, Bristow, VA
  • Aug. 16 - Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Bethel, NY
  • Aug. 19 - Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, Darien Center, NY
  • Aug. 20 - Blossom Music Center, Cuyahoga Falls, OH
  • Aug. 22 - Riverbend Music Center, Cincinnati, OH
  • Aug. 23 - Klipsch Music Center, Indianapolis, IN
  • Aug. 26 - Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook, Gilford, NH
