Kings of Leon set album charts on fire

Kings of Leon’s new album ‘Come Around Sundown’ came in at Number One on the UK Official Albums Chart last night (October 24).

The album set an all-time record for digital sales in any album's opening week, shifting 49,000 downloads and selling 83,000 copies.

Knocking off Robbie Williams' album 'In And Out Of Consciousness – Greatest Hits 1990-2010' from the top of the charts, their success cements their stellar rise from cult indie favourites to stadium rockers of almost U2-esque proportions.

The Beatles also stormed the charts - albeit mostly from the beyond the grave - entering the album charts at four and six, with a pair newly re-mastered compliations, ‘1967-1970’ (‘The Blue Album’) and ‘1962-1966’ (‘The Red Album’).
