Kings of Leon on new album: 'The whole thing felt a lot more organic'

Rockers King of Leon are gearing up to release a new album called "WALLS", which stands for "We Are Like Love Songs", and they revealed that changing things up and falling back in love with the creative process have been incredibly important to them this time around.

The band sat down for a chat with Billboard magazine and opened up about their 2013 album "Mechanical Bull", which only shifted 347,000 copies in the USA, and said that they had lost their passion for music:

"There comes a point when you realise you've lost that passion and that hunger. You're chastened and want to get it back -- and in order to get it back it's like, 'Forget about record sales, forget about the size of the venue you're playing, forget about any of that stuff.'"

Caleb went onto add that the creative process for this new record has been worlds apart from what they've been used to: "We said, 'Let's f--ing go to L.A., eat some sushi, get some sunshine'. The whole thing just felt a lot more organic."

Jared Followill explained that they have been working with Markus Dravs on the record, which has proved productive: "He just said things that nobody had ever said to us. Like, 'I don't like that song, that's not good, we can move on from that.'"
