Kings of Leon top UK albums chart with 'WALLS'

Kings of Leon have reached No.1 on the midweek UK albums chart update.

The group's new record 'WALLS' - which stands for We Are Like Love Songs - has sold nearly 22,000 units more than its nearest rival in the last three days.

If the US band stay put come Friday (October 21), they will have scored their fifth No.1 album in the UK.

At No.2 on the midweek update today (October 17) is Tom Chaplin's new entry 'The Wave'.

Oasis enter at No.3 with a re-issue of their 1997 effort 'Be Here Now', while Phil Collins' 'The Singles' is in at No.4.

Rounding off the top five is Two Door Cinema Club with their new entry 'Gameshow'.

Other new entries include Rebecca Ferguson's 'Superwoman', which debuts at No.7, and Beth Hart's 'Fire On The Floor' at No.16.

The Dillinger Escape Plan's final album 'Dissociation' enters at No.27.
