A Kings of Leon fan has managed to hang out with his idols - all because he crowdsurfed naked at one of their gigs.

The US group performed in Birmingham on Tuesday (July 9) but it was fan Jimmy Doris who caught attention after he was pictured and filmed being held aloft naked by the crowd.

It didn't bypass drummer Nathan Followill, who tweeted after the gig: "Hey Birmingham sausage man, if you're on twitter, DM me. We owe you a beer."

Doris then responded and was invited to hang out with the Kings of Leon the night after at the LG Arena.

Photos from the meeting show Doris having a beer with the 'Sex On Fire' group - and it seems he managed to keep his clothes on this time.

It was a surprising turnaround for the fan, who admitted on Twitter that he thought he would get chucked out of the gig.
