Kings of Leon have given some wise advice on the opposite sex to One Direction - take their phones before partying with them.

The US rock group are almost veterans of the scene and they have given some helpful tips to the 'Kiss You' lads in terms of dealing with girls.

The 'Sex On Fire' band told The Sun that if One Direction are going to have a party, they should take any mobile phones on the door in an effort to reduce the amount of incriminating photos that may leak online.

Drummer Nathan Followill said: "If you're going to have a party in a hotel room, have a box at the door and take the girls' phones - that's what gets kids into trouble these days. Every phone is a camera."

Singer Caleb Followill added: "Don't try to turn into a rock band or anything. You are already there and have your music and your fans, so don't try change what you are."

Nathan meanwhile also commented on the domino effect that happened after One Direction's Harry Styles followed him on Twitter. He said:

"I honestly think I got an extra 20,000 followers when that kid followed me - teenage girls asking me to set them up with him."
