Kylie Minogue has bagged this year's Australian of the Year award.

The prize is given out each year in London to an Aussie who has made an impact in the UK.

Minogue attended the Australia Day Gala Dinner in the British capital at the weekend to receive the award.

She posted about her win on Instagram, writing:

"WOW...thank you for the honour this evening at#Australia House, London. Australian of the Year in the UK!!! I am so grateful!!"

Australia Day is an annual celebration of the country and it takes place on January 26.

Minogue meanwhile has teamed up with electronic veteran Giorgio Moroder for a track on his upcoming new album.

She has collaborated with Moroder on the tune 'Right Here, Right Now'.
