Kylie Minogue to help curate Sydney New Year celebrations

Kylie Minogue is set to help plan Sydney's New Year shindig as part of her 25th anniversary celebrations.

The Aussie star will return to her homeland in the role of creative ambassador for the New Year's Eve celebration.

Minogue said in a statement that she will be working with some of Australia's "best creative talent" to help plan the event.

It will help round off the singer's K25 project, which celebrates Minogue's 25 years in the music industry. Speaking about her new role, Minogue said:

"I will be the creative ambassador for 2012 Sydney's New Year's Eve. I'll be working alongside some of Australia's best creative talent, creating an exciting event for the whole family, one with lots of dazzle, lots of energy, lots of great music and of course, about seven tons of fireworks, which will go off with a bang, celebrating love, life and everything in between."

She added: "As some of you know, this year I celebrate my 25 year anniversary, K25, and I can't think of a better place to cap off the year than in Australia, and Sydney is the New Year's Eve capital of the world, so who wouldn't want to be part of that? It's such a privilege to be part of this event and I promise you a night to remember."
