Lady Gaga's 'ARTPOP' to be released in China after ban is lifted

Lady Gaga will see her new album be released in China after the country relaxed its views on the singer.

The US star featured on a list of one hundred songs too 'vulgar' to be aired in the heavily censored country in 2011.

However, the music icon confirmed on Twitter that her 2013 record 'ARTPOP' has been given the green light for release in China.

She wrote: "I'm so excited!!!! The Chinese Government Approved ARTPOP to be released in China with all 15 songs! Next I hope I can come to perform!"

Gaga meanwhile later tweeted her gratitude at being able to make music she "believes in", adding:

"5 years today I had my 1st #1 Song with Just Dance. I can't believe I'm even here. Still making music I believe in. In my big shoes. Paws up."
