Lady Gaga believes 'Born This Way' will always be her "most important" song.

The singer released the track three years ago and she took to Twitter to pay tribute to the tune on its birthday.

She wrote: "Happy 3 yr b-day to Born This Way going #1! It'll always be my most important song to me. For it's message and how it brought us together."

The song features the lyrics: "I'm beautiful in my way/'Cause God makes no mistakes/I'm on the right track, baby/I was born this way."

The track was included on the album of the same name, which was released by Gaga in 2011.

The record reached No.1 in a plethora of countries worldwide and it spawned the massive Born This Way Ball tour.
