Lady Gaga: 'I'm just a hometown girl livin' the dream'

Pop icon Lady Gaga performed at New York City's iconic Madison Square Garden last night (May 13) and revealed that taking the stage there stirred up a lot of emotions because she's from the area and it's such a famous arena.

Writing on her official Twitter page late last night, the 'Born This Way' sensation explained that returning to her old stomping ground to headline Madison Square Garden is a real dream come true:

"I am playing Madison Square Garden tonight! It's my hometown arena, and I couldn't feel more grateful and proud to be back! I love NY. We're back at Madison Square Garden! Just a hometown girl livin' the dream. I belong to u NY."

Gaga also shared a photograph of herself posing outside of the venue, which can be seen above left, and looked incredibly happy to be there. She recently told her Little Monsters that her ArtRave: The ARTPOP Tour has already 'exceeded her expectations': "It has exceeded many of ours. I'm proud, my team is group of blooming masters, we are supremely passionate and believe in it."
