Lady Gaga on hip surgery recovery: 'It took longer than I expected, but I'm so grateful to be healed'

Last year, pop icon Lady Gaga was forced to cancel the remainder of her tour after sustaining a hip injury that required a serious surgical procedure.

During her Born This Way Ball tour, the hitmaker suffered a labral tear and had to have an operation in order to recover from it. She has now revealed that being back on the road with her ArtRave: The ARTPOP Ball Toir is amazing because she was really concerned at how the affliction would impact her career.

Speaking exclusively to Extra about the recovery process, the 'Applause' sensation admitted that it took significantly longer to heal than she initially anticipated: "It did take a long time."

"It took longer than I had anticipated. And yet I was able to get through some things pretty soon after. I would say six months after the surgery I was able to dance, but it’s everyday I have to do a totally different thing with my body then I used to to keep it really healthy, but it feels really good."
