Lady Gaga has become the latest music star to chuck ice on herself in the name of charity.

A number of celebrities have filmed themselves having a bucket of ice thrown on them to raise awareness of neurodegenerative illness ALS.

US star Gaga is the latest music personality to take part in the campaign, posting a video on Instagram.

The 'Applause' lady also pledged money to the cause, adding on Twitter:

"I pledge a $10,000 donation to ALS + I will also ice myself to spread the word. If 1 person is sick the whole world is. We are one body."

She follows other acts like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez in dunking themselves with ice.
