Tony Bennett on Lady Gaga: 'She's such a good improvised jazz singer'

Tony Bennett has lavished praise on Lady Gaga.

The US star and the veteran crooner are releasing the jazz duets album 'Cheek to Cheek' on September 23.

Speaking to the Mirror, 88-year-old Bennett said that people will be surprised by the level of Gaga's talent when they hear the record.

He said: "There were no moments of craziness or eccentricity when I was with her. She said that when she was 13 and singing jazz, 'Nobody ever paid any attention to me'. We get along great and she's just such a good improvised jazz singer. I think the public are going to say, 'I knew she could sing well but I didn't know she could sing that well'.

"I just love her and want to work with her as many times as possible in the future."

Bennett meanwhile previously told Billboard that the duo plan on performing in the US in the future:

"She has the idea of just performing at Radio City for possibly two weeks with her. It's amazing how she's planning out how we should perform together, and it won't be those 45,000-seat places because I work in acoustical halls all the time, or outdoor theatres sometimes."
