Lady Gaga has reached out to those affected by the 9/11 tragedy.

A series of terrorist attacks took place thirteen years ago today (September 11) largely in the heart of New York City, leaving almost 3,000 people dead.

US star Gaga - who hails from New York - took to Twitter today to pay tribute to the lives lost in the attacks.

She wrote: "Today we remember and honor all the lives + families ruined by the tragedy of 9/11. Practice love in their memory today #WeWillNeverForget."

Gaga had previously written on Twitter about the feeling of togetherness she saw after performing in the United Arab Emirates.

The singer said: "Last night's performance in Dubai was a privilege and honor. I have prayed to come here and be with you. Shukran monsters, I LOVE YOU.

"I looked out into the crowd and saw many different people. United, International Love. 6 yrs into my career, they were waiting. Humbled #UAE."
