Lady Gaga's Oscars dress took '1600 hours' to make

Lady Gaga has revealed that the dress she wore at the Oscars took 1600 hours to create.

The singer appeared at the glitzy awards ceremony on Sunday (February 22) to perform a medley of tracks from The Sound of Music.

Speaking on Instagram after the show, the US star said that her dress - a gown lined with white crystals - took an age to make.

Gaga said: "I will never forget tonight. #Oscars thank you Azzedine Alaia for this stunning piece. It took 1600 hrs of embroidery and 25 people in Paris, he's never before made a dress for the Oscars.

"What an honor. The gloves were hand dyed Crimson, baby orchid blooms hand painted in my hair and killer pear shaped diamonds by Lorraine Schwartz. (sic)."

Songs performed by Gaga in her medley included 'Edelweiss' and 'My Favourite Things'.
