Lady Gaga: 'I was proposed to with a ring made from candy'

Last week, pop sensation Lady Gaga confirmed her engagement to 'Chicago Fire' actor Taylor Kinney and she has now opened up about the proposal in a new interview.

Speaking to Access Hollywood on the Oscars red carpet last night (February 22), the beauty joked that Kinney first proposed to her with a ring made from candy.

Gaga explained: "First he gave me a Ring Pop. That was kind of amazing and I was crying, I was so excited. I said, 'Yes!' right away and then he pulled out the heart-shaped diamond. First it was candy. I was happy with the candy."

The 'Born This Way' superstar, whose actual engagement ring is a stunning heart-shaped diamond, went onto add that she is happier now than she has ever been and it's all down to being in love and the support she gets from her fiancé: "It makes everything better. When you're in love and have love it makes everything better."

Gaga, meanwhile, wowed the world last night with her performance at the Oscars where she paid tribute to the 1959 classic movie 'The Sound Of Music'. She sang a medley of songs from the iconic film and joined on stage by actress Julie Andrews.
