Lady Gaga dominates Oscars Twitter and Facebook mentions

Lady Gaga's performance was the most talked about part of this year's Oscars online.

The singer took to the stage at the awards ceremony on Sunday (February 22) to play a medley of tracks from The Sound of Music.

Twitter have revealed that her performance racked up the most amount of tweets per minute during the awards.

The second most mentioned part of the ceremony was Alejandro Iñárritu winning the Best Picture prize for Birdman.

Gaga was the most tweeted about star of the show, whilst Birdman was the most popular film.

Facebook meanwhile have revealed that the Sound of Music medley was their most discussed part of the Oscars.

It had 214,000 interactions per minute globally, whilst that figure was 154,000 in the US.
