Lady Gaga reveals who was truly there for her during 'Artpop' blip

Pop hitmaker Lady Gaga has revealed that the disappointing reception that 'Artpop' received was really tough to deal with, but she had two amazing artists who were there for her with words of encouragement and inspiration.

During an interview with Billboard magazine, the superstar admitted that she owes a lot to both Sir Elton John and Tony Bennett because they supported her through her 'Artpop' era, which saw lower sales than expected:

"There is nobody more bada** than Tony Bennett. That man is a part of the history of music in a way that is extremely powerful, and he taught me to stay true to who I am, to not let anybody exploit me.

"He is responsible in so many ways for making me happy, and I can say the same for Elton. When the whole industry turned their back on me during 'Artpop', they were the ones who said, 'Hey, this is a blip. It's going to go away'."
