Gaga to be introduced by Vice President Joe Biden at Oscars

Hitmaker Lady Gaga will have a big presence at the 2016 Oscars because not only is she performing live, but her song 'Til It Happens to You,' which is her contribution to 'The Hunting Ground' movie soundtrack, is up for an award.

The track is nominated for Best Original Song at the ceremony, which is due to take place on February 28, and it has now been revealed that her performance will be introduced by someone very important.

White House officials have today confirmed that Vice President Joe Biden will introduce the 'Born This Way' superstar at the upcoming awards ceremony as part of a performance that aims to raise awareness about sexual violence against women.

Billboard reports that "the former Delaware senator was the primary author of the Violence Against Women Act, which President Clinton signed into law in 1994. Biden will direct Academy Awards viewers toItsOnUs.org, the campaign mentioned in Gaga's "Til It Happens to You" video."

Gaga, meanwhile, recently spoke about being nominated for an Oscar and described it as an incredible honour: "It’s (nomination) truly an honour, and it is extremely healing actually, for it to be for a song that for both of us, is part of who we are... and I feel kind of vindicated for my own experience in a way because the song is us continuing to fight through our demons about it."
