The NFL has refused to deny speculation linking Lady Gaga with performing at next year's Super Bowl.

Billboard reported that the singer is lined up to play the coveted half-time slot at the NRG Stadium in Houston on February 5.

They say the NFL was impressed her national anthem rendition at the 2016 Super Bowl.

However, the sports body refused to confirm the speculation when asked by Billboard.

It said: "We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, at this point we do not have a final decision.

"We’re happy there is so much excitement about the show."
