MTV has launched a brand new concept for an 'online music awards' ceremony, which they have called the OMAs, and Lady Gaga has already become a frontrunner amongst the nominated artists. 

The 'Born This Way' hitmaker has been tipped for 3 awards whilst Kanye West and Nicki Minaj are following closely behind with 2 nominations apiece. The ceremony will be in the form of a live webcast that will be streamed online on April 28. 

The categories that Gaga has fared well in are 'Must-Follow Artist on Twitter', 'Most Innovative Artist' and 'Favourite Animated GIF'. Voting will be opened to the public soon, and is supposed to go live today (April 5), and other categories in the OMAs include 'Best Independent Music Blog' and 'Best Fan Cover'.
