Lady Gaga's biggest musical inspiration

'The Edge of Glory' hitmaker, Lady Gaga, reveals just how much of an influence Bruce Springsteen is to her in a documentary that will air just three days after the release of her new record, 'Born This Way'.

Set to premiere in the U.S on May 26, 'Lady Gaga: Inside The Outside' will feature an extensive interview with the pop icon where she opens up about her career, childhood and inspirations, and she expresses just how much the 'Born In The USA' rocker means to her:

"Springsteen had such an influence on our home. My father gave me, I believe it was for Christmas, a Bruce Springsteen songbook for the piano and on it was 'Thunder Road,' which is my favorite Bruce Springsteen song."

"My dad said, 'If you learn how to play this song we will take out a loan for a grand piano, a baby grand.' So I remember it was the hardest thing for me. I was playing these huge (classical) pieces, like 15 pages long, ... and then there was this Bruce Springsteen song."

Gaga, explaining how Springsteen's music encouraged her passion, added:

"I opened up the book and there was like chords, guitar chords. I was so confused. I didn't understand it, so I just started to read it and eventually, eventually I got it down."

The full programme will be shown initially on MTV in America with a later date to be set for the UK and you can watch her performance of 'Judas' live from Radio 1's Big Weekend here:
