Gaga, P!nk react to gay marriage victory

LGBT rights supporters lit up Twitter today after New York became the sixth state in America to allow gay marriage.

The bill passed 33 to 29 in the Albany State Senate and means that New York is the most populous state to recognize gay marriage in the U.S. The news comes as the New York LGBT community celebrates Pride Week.

Pop star and gay rights activist Lady Gaga was quick to celebrate the news. “I can't stop crying. We did it kids,” she gushed. “The revolution is ours to fight for love, justice+equality. Rejoice NY, and propose. We did it!!!”

New mom P!nk, who was honoured by LGBT last year, also joined in, tweeting the news and writing: "CONGRATULATIONS! ABOUT TIME!"

Other stars who joined in included Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, Perez Hilton and Lance Bass.
