Lady Gaga's publicist hits back at wristbands lawsuit

A representative for Lady Gaga has hit back at the £3.1m lawsuit that claims she has pocketed profits from the sales of her wristbands that were launched to raise money for the Japan disaster relief fund.

A statement that came from the 'Judas' hitmaker's publicist slams the accusations as "misguided" and expresses that it takes away from the honest and heartfelt gesture:

"This misguided lawsuit is without merit and unfortunately takes attention away from the kind deeds of the fans around the world who are supporting the people of Japan."

"The entire $5 donation made with the purchase of each bracelet is going to support the disaster relief. No profit is being made on shipping costs. Sales tax charges were made in accordance with local legal requirements. Lady Gaga has personally pledged her own funds to this cause and continues to support the victims of the disaster."

The pop icon herself hasn't yet publicly commented on the situation, but she is currently in Japan to promote 'Born This Way'. Check out her latest video for 'The Edge of Glory' here:
