Inspirational pop icon Lady Gaga has put her celebrity to fantastic use by confirming the launch of The Born This Way Foundation. 

The 'Yoü and I' hitmaker has often spoken out about bullying, equality and sexuality and has now announced the creation of a brand new organisation that will aim to promote "bravery, love and acceptance". 

Tweeting about the exciting news last night, November 2, Gaga told her fans: "I'm proud to announce: My mommy + I have created "The Born This Way Foundation" A place for Braver, Love, Acceptance."

She has also set up a website for the foundation, which explains that it wll officially launch in 2012 and a message on the site reads:

"This way, towards bravery where youth are empowered. This way, towards acceptance where humanity is embraced. This way, towards love where individuality is encouraged."
