Lady Gaga "overwhelmed" by the success and impact of her anthem 'Born This Way'

International pop icon Lady Gaga has opened up about her momentous win at this year's MTV European Music Awards and said she was "overwhelmed" by the positive reaction to her songs.

The talented hitmaker received 4 gongs in total and 2 prizes for her track 'Born This Way' (including Best Song and Best Video), and she explained to Capital FM that to have her anthem make such an impact around the world is phenomenal:

"I'm really floored and really overwhelmed. I never expect anything like this. Every time I make a new record or write a new song I start from the bottom up again. I never anticipate or perceive that anything will come to me easily."

"It's always a fight from the bottom up so I'm grateful to the fans for believing in me."

'Born This Way' has been an important record to Gaga from the beginning because of what it stands for and promotes, and she recently announced that in 2012 she will launch The Born This Way Foundation which will encourage "bravery, love and acceptance"

Tweeting to her 15.4 million followers this morning, November 7, she wrote:

"Sometimes I can't believe Born This Way has been out only 5 months. OVER THE MOON. Born This Way means more to me than anything I've ever created. Thank you for always sticking by me. I was drunk all night with happiness."
