Lady Gaga tops 2011's highest-earning women in music list

Pop sensation Lady Gaga has been named as the highest-earning woman in music of 2011 by Forbes magazine. 

The 'Marry The Night' superstar generated a phenomenal income of $90 million between May 2010 and May 2011 and the incredible figure has put her at the top of Forbes' 2011 Top Earning Women in Music list.

The money has come from excessive touring, sales of her latest album 'Born This Way' and other related merchandise. 

The sum has put her ahead of 'Teenage Dream' hitmaker Katy Perry, who earned $44 million, and country sweetheart Taylor Swift, who took home $45 million. 

The full top ten is as follows:

1. Lady Gaga - $90 million
2. Taylor Swift - $45 million
3. Katy Perry - $44 million
4. Beyoncé - $35 million
5. Rihanna - $29 million
6. P!nk - $22 million
7. Carrie Underwood - $20 million
8. Celine Dion - $19 million
9. Britney Spears - $10 million
10. Alicia Keys - $10 million
