Lady Gaga tops 'Celebs Gone Good' poll

Pop sensation Lady Gaga has topped the Celebs Gone Good list for a second year running.

The Top 20, compiled by DoSomething.org, rates celebrities and well-known personalities for their charitable and philanthropic efforts throughout the year and the 'Born This Way' hitmaker remains unchallenged at No.1.

The list, which is strongly dominated by musicians, credits Gaga for her commendable social conscious and explains that she beat the likes of Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to the punch because of the various projects she has either launched or taken part in during 2011.

A statement on the website confirms:

"Gaga campaigned all year for anti-bullying legislation, and she has announced the start of her own organization: the Born This Way Foundation. The charity has yet to launch, but she’s already got Barney’s New York donating 25 percent of the proceeds from her Gaga’s Workshop to the foundation."

"The lady also continued her advocacy for AIDS/HIV this year by joining MAC cosmetics to help create a new lipstick where 100 percent of sales benefit MAC AIDS fund."

Teen heartthrob Bieber is at No.2, Demi Lovato made an appearance at No.10 and Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.Am is right behind at 13 for his contributions to The Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Academies.
